Fishing License Buying Guide:

All Non-Residents of Alaska age 16 and older must Have A Valid Alaska Sport Fishing License. You Can purchase a One-day license if you only plan to fish for one day.

Alaska Non-Resident 1-Day Fishing License Purchase Guide

 

This license is required for all non-residents age 16 and older to fish in Alaska waters.

 

Access the ADF&G Online Store

 

  • Navigate directly to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) Online Store using a computer or mobile device.

  • Use Shop as Guest (which is fine for a one-time purchase).

 

Enter Personal Information

 

  • Proceed as a guest.

  • You will need to provide the following information for the angler:

    • Full Legal Name

    • Date of Birth

    • Height and Weight

    • Social Security Number (required by law)

    • Current Mailing Address

    • Driver's License or ID Information

 

Select the Correct License

 

  • From the available options, select the Sport Fishing Licenses category.

  • Locate and add the following item to your cart:

    • Nonresident 1-Day Sport Fishing License

    • Make sure you choose the date of your fishing adventure.

 

IMPORTANT NOTE: King Salmon Stamp

 

You DO NOT need to purchase a King Salmon Stamp for our standard ice fishing trips,

DO NOT add any King Salmon Stamp (1-Day, 3-Day, Annual, etc.) to your cart.

 

Checkout and Complete Purchase

 

  • Review your cart to ensure only the Nonresident 1-Day Sport Fishing License is listed.

  • Proceed to the checkout page.

  • Enter your payment and billing information.

  • Complete the transaction.

 

Sign and Possess Your License

 

  • Once the purchase is complete, you will receive an eSigned digital copy of your license via your ADF&G account or the confirmation page.

  • You MUST have your license in your possession while fishing.

    • Option 1 (Digital): Download the eSigned PDF copy and save it to your mobile phone.

    • Option 2 (Paper Backup): Print a physical copy of the license and sign it (if not already eSigned).

  • Keep your license accessible (digital or paper) on the day of your trip to show to your guide or a Fish and Game Officer upon request.
