Chena River Fishing Adventure
Run the Chena River in a Boat where we will be stopping and fishing for Arctic Grayling.
Service Description
Join us for a scenic boat trip up the Chena River, where adventure, fishing, and Alaska’s wild beauty come together. We’ll travel upriver by boat, stopping along the way to fish for Arctic grayling in quiet bends and productive stretches of water. Grayling are known for their striking dorsal fins and eager bites. We wanted to make this trip fun for both beginners and experienced anglers, that being said, while the Chena River isn’t typically known for trophy-sized Arctic grayling, it’s an excellent place for beginner anglers. The river offers steady action, forgiving conditions, and plenty of opportunities to learn, making it a fun and rewarding experience for first-time fishermen and families. On your boating trip, I provide all the essential gear to keep you safe and ready to fish, including life jackets, safety equipment, fishing poles (both fly and spinning setups), as well as waders and boots. Everything you need for a successful day on the water is taken care of, please just be sure to bring your own rain jacket and some light weather gear in case conditions change, so you stay comfortable no matter what Alaska throws at us. As we cruise the river, keep your eyes open for wildlife. Moose, eagles, beavers, ducks, and other native animals are often spotted along the riverbanks, adding to the adventure. The Chena River offers a peaceful escape into the Alaskan backcountry, with chances to explore, fish, and enjoy the scenery at a relaxed pace, without going to far out of town! This trip is perfect for families, small groups, and anyone looking to experience Alaska from the water while casting a line in one of the area’s most beautiful rivers. This trip begins at the Nordale Chena river Boat Launch which is only about 30 minutes from the Fairbanks, and travels upriver along the Chena River. If time allows, we’ll continue toward the Chena River Flood Control Dam, where we’ll turn around and begin our return trip. Please note that the 4-hour adventure time does not include transportation. For example, if your trip is scheduled to start at 10:00 AM, we will pick you up ahead of time to ensure you arrive at the boat launch and are ready to begin your trip right on schedule.
